"I surely know of people from my community who will come on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like the white mountains of Tihamah, but Allāh will make them like scattered dust. Thawbān said: O Messenger of Allāh, describe them to us, make them clear to us so that we do not become of them while we are unaware. He said: They are your brothers and from your kind, and they take from the night as you do, but they are people who, when alone with the prohibitions of Allāh, violate them." It was narrated by Ibn Mājah (4245): ʿĪsá ibn Yūnus al-Ramlī narrated to us, ʿUqbah ibn ʿAlqamah ibn Khadīj al-Maʿāfirī narrated to us from Arṭāh ibn al-Mundhir from Abū ʿĀmir al-Ahlahānī from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) that he said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic, its men are trustworthy. Al-Mundhirī said (3/178): "It was narrated by Ibn Mājah and its narrators are trustworthy." Al-Būṣīrī said in "al-Zawāʾid" (p. 262/1): "This isnād is authentic, its men are trustworthy. And Abū ʿĀmir al-Ahlahānī's name is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ghābir."

"Do not laugh excessively, for excessive laughter kills the heart." It was narrated by Ibn Mājah (4193) through ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Jaʿfar from Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥunayn from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is good, all its men are trustworthy except for ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Jaʿfar, about whom al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful, but he may make mistakes."
