ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith, who is trustworthy, a jurist, and a memorizer, as stated by the ḥāfiẓ in "al-Taqrīb." His narration is found in Ibn Ḥibbān's "Ṣaḥīḥ" (2311 - its additions), which is printed. It was incumbent upon the esteemed writer to refer to it, as it is one of the sources to which the ḥadīth was attributed in the aforementioned "Takhrīj," and he is aware of it. His failure to refer to it and examine their isnād is inexcusable for anyone seeking to verify a ḥadīth, especially if the verification is in response to those who authenticated it among the earlier scholars like al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Mundhirī and the later ones like myself. I further add here by saying: It was also recorded by Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (1/29/2) from the two previous paths and from the path of al-Ṭabarānī from Aḥmad ibn Rushdīn al-Miṣrī, who informed us through Ḥarmalah ibn Yaḥyá, who informed us through Ibn Wahb, who informed me through ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith with his isnād, elevated, with the wording: "Blessed is al-Shām, for the Most Merciful will extend His mercy upon it." But this Aḥmad is Ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥajjāj ibn Rushdīn Abū Jaʿfar al-Miṣrī. It is said in "al-Mīzān": "Ibn ʿAdī said: They accused him of lying and rejected certain things from him." Then he mentioned a ḥadīth among his fabrications. I believe that the ḥadīth with this wording is also among his fabrications, as he is the only one to narrate it with this wording, unlike all those who narrated this ḥadīth from the trustworthy and others. It is necessary to point this out, especially since the apparent statement of al-Mundhirī is that it is authentic with this wording, as he said after mentioning it with the wording of the translation: "It was narrated by al-Tirmidhī, who authenticated it, and by Ibn Ḥibbān in 'Ṣaḥīḥ,' and al-Ṭabarānī with an authentic isnād and its wording...." He mentioned it with this objectionable wording. More explicit in creating the illusion of authenticity is the action of al-Haythamī, as he included it in "al-Majmaʿ" (10/60) with this wording and said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and its men are the men of the authentic [collections]!" The correct expression should be followed by saying:
عمرو ابن الحارث وهو ثقة فقيه حافظ كما قال الحافظ في " التقريب ". وروايته عند ابن حبان في " صحيحه " (٢٣١١ - زوائده) وهو مطبوع. فكان من الواجب على حضرة الكاتب أن يرجع إليه وهو من المصادر التي نسبت الحديث إليها في " التخريج " المذكور فهو على علم به، فعدم رجوعه إليه والنظر في إسنادهم مما لا يغتفر لمن أراد التحقيق في حديث ما لاسيما إذا كان تحقيقه في سبيل الرد على من صححه من المتقدمين كالحافظ المنذري والمتأخرين مثلي. وأزيد هنا فأقول: قد أخرجه أيضا ابن عساكر في " تاريخ دمشق " (١ / ٢٩ / ٢) من الطريقين السابقين ومن طريق الطبراني عن أحمد بن رشدين المصري أنبأنا حرملة بن يحيى أنبأنا ابن وهب أخبرني عمرو بن الحارث بإسناده مرفوعا بلفظ: " طوبى للشام إن الرحمن لباسط رحمته عليه ". لكن أحمد هذا هو ابن محمد بن الحجاج بن رشدين أبو جعفر المصري. قال في " الميزان ": " قال ابن عدي: كذبوه وأنكرت عليه أشياء ". ثم ذكر له حديثا من أباطيله. وأرى أن الحديث بهذا اللفظ من أباطيله أيضا لتفرده به دون كل من روى هذا الحديث من الثقات وغيرهم، فوجب التنبيه عليه لاسيما وظاهر كلام المنذري أنه صحيح بهذا اللفظ، فإنه قال بعد أن ذكره بلفظ الترجمة: " رواه الترمذي وصححه وابن حبان في " صحيحه " والطبراني بإسناد صحيح ولفظه.... " فذكره بهذا اللفظ المنكر. وأصرح منه في إيهام التصحيح صنيع الهيثمي فإنه أورده في " المجمع " (١٠ / ٦٠) بهذا اللفظ وقال: " رواه الطبراني ورجاله رجال الصحيح "! وحق العبارة أن تتبع بقوله:
