"yahya ibn Maʿīn criticized him regarding his precision." al-Dhahabī indicated that the general weakening by Ibn Maʿīn, which I had previously mentioned, is not absolute, but rather "regarding his precision." Thus, he is considered to have ḥasan ḥadīth, and Allāh knows best. 11- ḥadīth (302) after line (13) al-Walīd ibn Muslim was also followed by Bishr ibn Bakr from al-Awzāʿī with the same wording as al-Walīd, as recorded by al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (13/194/3613). (Note) Among the errors of the commentator on "Musnad Abī Yaʿlá" is his statement (3/470) in his commentary on this ḥadīth: "Its isnād is ṣaḥīḥ, al-Walīd ibn Muslim explicitly stated transmission according to al-Baghawī"! There are three errors in this: the first is that al-Baghawī did not narrate it from al-Walīd but rather from Bishr, as you have seen, so it might have been a slip of the pen. The second is that his explicit statement of transmission is actually in Muslim, and likewise in Ibn Ḥibbān's "Ṣaḥīḥ" (8/47/209 and 6441 - al-Iḥsān). The third is that his mentioned statement suggests to those knowledgeable in this noble science that he does not know that al-Walīd ibn Muslim's tadlīs is of the type where his explicit mention of hearing from his shaykh is not beneficial; because he practiced tadlīs al-taswiyah, meaning he would omit the narrator between his shaykh and his shaykh's shaykh, as explained in his biography. If his statement had not been repeated frequently in the ḥadīths of al-Walīd ibn Muslim, I would have considered it a mere scribal error from which no writer is safe.
