and Abū Zurʿah said: Weak in ḥadīth. and al-Nasāʾī said: Abandoned. and Ibn ʿAdī said: I see no harm in his ḥadīth, and Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Shuʿayb praised him highly. and al-Ahwāzī said: ʿAṭāʾ ibn Muslim considered him reliable. and al-Baghawī said: Sound in ḥadīth. I said: Someone like him can be used as supporting evidence, if Allāh wills, and he was followed by three: the first: Qays ibn al-Rabīʿ from Ziyād ibn ʿAlāqah in it. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī. and this Qays is also weak due to poor memory, so he is used as supporting evidence. the second: Sulaymān ibn Arqam from Ziyād ibn ʿAlāqah in it, except for the third sentence. It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/365). and Sulaymān is also weak like his predecessors. the third: al-Walīd ibn Abī Thawr from Ziyād in it, similar to the one before. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī. and al-Walīd is also weak,
وقال أبو زرعة: ضعيف الحديث. وقال النسائي: متروك. وقال ابن عدي: ما أرى بحديثه بأسا، وكان أحمد بن محمد بن شعيب يثني عليه ثناء تاما. وقال الأهوازي: كان عطاء بن مسلم يوثقه. وقال البغوي: صالح الحديث. قلت: فمثله يستشهد به إن شاء الله تعالى، وقد تابعه ثلاثة: الأول: قيس بن الربيع عن زياد بن علاقة به. أخرجه الطبراني. وقيس هذا ضعيف أيضا لسوء حفظه فيستشهد به. الثاني: سليمان بن أرقم عن زياد بن علاقة به دون الجملة الثالثة. أخرجه أحمد (٤ / ٣٦٥). وسليمان أيضا ضعيف كسابقيه. الثالث: الوليد بن أبي ثور عن زياد به كالذي قبله. أخرجه الطبراني. والوليد ضعيف أيضا،
