and Abū Zurʿah said: Weak in ḥadīth. and al-Nasāʾī said: Abandoned. and Ibn ʿAdī said: I see no harm in his ḥadīth, and Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Shuʿayb praised him highly. and al-Ahwāzī said: ʿAṭāʾ ibn Muslim considered him reliable. and al-Baghawī said: Sound in ḥadīth. I said: Someone like him can be used as supporting evidence, if Allāh wills, and he was followed by three: the first: Qays ibn al-Rabīʿ from Ziyād ibn ʿAlāqah in it. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī. and this Qays is also weak due to poor memory, so he is used as supporting evidence. the second: Sulaymān ibn Arqam from Ziyād ibn ʿAlāqah in it, except for the third sentence. It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/365). and Sulaymān is also weak like his predecessors. the third: al-Walīd ibn Abī Thawr from Ziyād in it, similar to the one before.
