"my father ordered for a small bread to be made, then he instructed me to bring it to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). He said: I came to him while he was in his house. He said to me: What do you have with you, O Jābir? Is it meat? I said: No. Then I went to my father, and he said to me: Did you see the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)? I said: Yes. He said: Did you hear him say anything? I said: Yes, he said to me: What do you have with you, O Jābir? Is it meat? He said: Perhaps the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) desired it, so he ordered a domesticated sheep to be slaughtered, then he ordered it to be roasted, then he instructed me to bring it to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). He said to me: What do you have with you, O Jābir? So I informed him and he mentioned it." I said: This isnād has trustworthy men except for Ibn Samīnah, whom I do not know now. Then I saw that Ibn al-Sunnī included the ḥadīth in "ʿAmal al-Yawm wa-al-Laylah" (271) and said: Abū Yaʿlá informed us, Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyá ibn Abī Samīnah narrated to us. So we recognized him, and he is truthful as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb," thus the isnād is established, and all praise is due to Allāh. He was followed up, as Abū Yaʿlá said afterwards: Aḥmad ibn al-Dawrāqī narrated to us, Ibrāhīm ibn Ḥabīb ibn al-Shahīd narrated to us with a similar narration. And this al-Dawrāqī - with the opening of the dāl - is Aḥmad ibn Ibrāhīm al-Nakrī al-Baghdādī, a trustworthy memorizer from the teachers of Muslim, so the ḥadīth is authentic, and all praise is due to Allāh. It was also narrated by al-Nasāʾī as mentioned in the biography of Ibrāhīm in "al-Tahdhīb." He was followed by Muḥammad ibn ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī ibn Muqaddam who narrated to us, Ibrāhīm ibn Ḥabīb ibn al-Shahīd with it. It was extracted by Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (2/285) from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad ibn Sawādah from him. This is a strong follow-up because Ibn Muqaddam - with emphasis - is truthful from the men of "al-Sunan." And Ibn Sawādah is also truthful as mentioned in "Tārīkh Baghdād" (9/373). Then I saw it in "Mustadrak al-Ḥākim" (4/111-112) through the route of al-Nasāʾī and others from Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Ḥabīb ibn al-Shahīd, who narrated to us from his father, and his grandfather's mention was omitted from the isnād
