however, they are not accused of fabrication, and the ḥadīth is narrated by a group from Ḥammād with it. Sulaimān ibn Ḥarb disagreed with them, narrating it from him as mawqūf. The narration of the group is preferred, as I have clarified in "Ṣaḥīḥ Sunan Abī Dāwūd" (no. 123). I mentioned there those who strengthened it among the imams and scholars, like al-Tirmidhī, who considered it good in some copies of his book, and like al-Mundhirī, Ibn Daqīq al-ʿĪd, Ibn al-Turkumanī, and al-Zaylaʿī. Imām Aḥmad also indicated its strengthening, as al-Athram said in "Sunan" (p. 213/1) after he presented the ḥadīth: "I heard Abū ʿAbd Allāh being asked: Are the ears part of the head? He said: Yes." The second: from Jaʿfar ibn al-Zubayr from al-Qāsim from Abū Umāmah with it. It was narrated by al-Dāraqutnī (pp. 38-39) who said: "Jaʿfar ibn al-Zubayr is abandoned." I say: Abū Muʿādh al-Alhānī followed him. It was narrated by Tamām al-Rāzī in "al-Fawāʾid" (246/1) through the route of ʿUthmān ibn Fāʾid who reported from Abū Muʿādh with it. This al-Alhānī, I did not find anyone who mentioned him, and ʿUthmān ibn Fāʾid is weak. The third: from Abū Bakr ibn Abī Maryam who said: I heard Rāshid ibn Saʿd from Abū Umāmah with it.
