and he mentioned it. This is a good chain of transmission. Yazīd ibn Ayyahm was narrated from by a group of trustworthy narrators, including Ṣafwān, Muḥammad ibn Ḥumayd, and Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh, and Ibn Ḥibbān declared him reliable. In "al-Jāmiʿ": "It was narrated by al-Dūlābī in "al-Kuná", Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Maʿrifah", and Ibn ʿAsākir from ʿAmr ibn Ḥabīb." The commentator did not discuss it further except to add to the narrators: al-Daylamī.

"Indeed, I am about to be called and I will respond. After me, there will be leaders who will say what they know and act upon what they recognize. Obedience to them is obedience [to me]. You will remain like this for a while. Then, there will come leaders after them who will say what they do not know and act upon what they do not recognize. Whoever supports them, aids them, and strengthens them, they will be destroyed and will destroy others. Mix with them with your bodies but separate from them with your deeds. Testify that the good-doer is good and the wrongdoer is wrong." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (1/196/2) and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Zuhd al-Kabīr" (22/1), and the context is from him, from Ḥātim ibn Yūsuf who said: ʿAbd al-Muʾmin ibn Khālid al-Ḥanafī - the judge of Marw - said: I heard ʿAbd Allāh ibn Buraydah narrating from Yaḥyá ibn Yaʿmur from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) stood among us as a preacher, and among his sermon was that he said," and he mentioned it. Al-Ṭabarānī said: "No one narrated it from Yaḥyá except Ibn Buraydah, and no one from him except ʿAbd al-Muʾmin. Ḥātim was unique in narrating it."
