"it was narrated by Aḥmad and its narrators are trustworthy" al-Mundhirī said (3/80): "it was narrated by Aḥmad with a good isnād." In "al-Jāmiʿ": "it was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr', then he indicated its goodness." Its commentator al-Manāwī said after quoting the words of al-Mundhirī and al-Haythamī: "and by this it is known that the author's indication of its goodness is insufficient, and it would have been better to indicate its authenticity." I said: al-Bukhārī also included it in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (30): Ibrāhīm ibn Mūsá narrated to us, he said: Baqiyyah informed us, he said: Buḥayr ibn Saʿd informed me of it.
"you did not teach him when he was ignorant, nor did you feed him when he was hungry or starving." It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd (1/408-409), al-Nasāʾī (2/209), Ibn Mājah (2/45), al-Ḥākim (4/133), and Aḥmad (4/166-167) through the route of Abū Bishr Jaʿfar ibn Abī Iyās from ʿAbbād ibn Sharḥabīl who said: "A year of hardship struck me, so I entered a garden from the gardens of Madīnah, and I plucked some ears of grain, ate them, and carried some in my garment. Its owner came, struck me, and took my garment. I went to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and he told him (and mentioned the ḥadīth), and he ordered him to return my garment and gave me a measure or half a measure of food." al-Ḥākim said: "its isnād is authentic." al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said, rather it is according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs.
