I said: Likewise, Ibn Abī Ḥātim also reported it, and in his narration, Qatādah explicitly states the transmission as in "al-Fatḥ." Similarly, Ibn Jarīr narrated it (30/122) through the route of ʿAbbād ibn Rāshid from Qatādah, who said: Khalīd al-Baṣrī narrated to us the second part of it and added: "So Allāh revealed in that the Quran (As for he who gives...) to His saying (the difficult path)."

- "When the righteous man is placed on his bier, he says: 'Take me forward, take me forward,' and when the wicked man is placed on his bier, he says: 'Woe to him, where are you taking me?!'" It was reported by al-Nasāʾī (1/270), Ibn Ḥibbān (764), and Aḥmad (2/292, 500), and the context is his, through the route of Ibn Abī Dhiʾb from Saʿīd al-Maqburī from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mihrān that Abū Hurayrah said when death approached him: "Do not strike a tent over me, do not follow me with incense, and hasten with me, for I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say," and he mentioned it. This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim. Al-Nasāʾī does not include the mawqūf part of it. It has also been narrated marfūʿ with the wording: (Do not follow the funeral), so see "Kitāb al-Janāʾiz" (p. 70, Islamic Office edition). It has a supporting narration from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, marfūʿ, with the wording: "When the bier is placed and men carry it on their necks, if it is righteous, it says: 'Take me forward,' and if it is not righteous, it says to its people: 'Woe to it, where are they taking it?!' Everything hears its voice except humans, and if humans heard it, they would faint." It was reported by al-Bukhārī (3/142, 144, 189 - Fatḥ) and Aḥmad (3/41, 58).
