in "al-Mukhtārah" (66/85/1) from Thābit ibn Yazīd, narrated to us by Hilāl ibn Khabbāb from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās: "that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was visited by ʿUmar while he was on a mat that had left marks on his side. He said: O Prophet of Allāh, would you not take a more comfortable bed than this? He replied," and he mentioned it. al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the conditions of al-Bukhārī." al-Dhahabī agreed with him. This is what they said! And Hilāl ibn Khabbāb is described in "al-Taqrīb" as "truthful but changed towards the end of his life," and he is indicated as being among the narrators of the four Sunan, and in "al-Khulāṣah," he is indicated as being among the narrators of the six, which might be a transcription error. And Allāh knows best. The ḥadīth was also narrated by al-Bayhaqī as mentioned in "al-Targhīb" (4/114), and it is strengthened by the previous supporting narration.
في " المختارة " (٦٦ / ٨٥ / ١) عن ثابت بن يزيد حدثنا هلال بن خباب عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس: " أن رسول الله ﷺ دخل عليه عمر وهو على حصير قد أثر في جنبه فقال: يا نبي الله لو اتخذت فراشا أوثر من هذا؟ فقال "، فذكره. وقال الحاكم: " صحيح على شرط البخاري ". ووافقه الذهبي. كذا قالا! وهلال بن خباب قال في " التقريب ": " صدوق تغير بآخره " ورمز له بأنه من رجال السنن الأربعة، وفي " الخلاصة " رمز له بأنه من رجال الستة، ولعله تصحيف. والله أعلم. والحديث رواه البيهقي أيضا كما في " الترغيب " (٤ / ١١٤) ، ويقويه شاهده الذي قبله.
- "Whoever gives a man security over his life and then kills him will carry the banner of treachery on the Day of Judgment." It was narrated by al-Nasāʾī in "al-Kubrā" (2/52/2 - Siyar), al-Bukhārī "in al-Tārīkh" (2/1/295), Ibn Mājah (2/152-153), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "al-Mushkil" (1/77), Aḥmad (5/223, 224), and al-Kharāʾiṭī in "al-Makārim" (29) through the route of ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr from Rafāʿah ibn Shaddād al-Qitbānī who said:
