It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/295) with an authentic chain according to their criteria. It has two other chains from him: the first from al-Aʿmash from Abū Sufyān from Jābir. It was recorded by Muslim, al-Nasāʾī, and Ibn Mājah. The other is from Sharīk from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAqīl from him. It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/332, 339, 394), and this is a good chain, and neither of them contains the addition. The fourth is Ṭāriq ibn Ashyam al-Ashjaʿī, the father of Abū Mālik, in a raised report without it. It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr." Al-Haythamī said (1/25): "And its men are trustworthy." I said: and it is in Muslim and others with the wording: "Whoever affirms the oneness of Allāh," and it will come, if Allāh wills. The fifth: Aws ibn Abī Aws al-Thaqafī said: I came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in the delegation of Thaqīf, and he was in a tent. Everyone in it slept except me and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). A man came and whispered to him, and he said: Go and kill him. Then he said: Does he not testify that there is no deity but Allāh? He said: Yes, but he says it as a form of protection. He said: Leave him, then he mentioned the ḥadīth. It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī, al-Dārimī (2/218), al-Ṭayālisī number (1109), and Aḥmad (4/8) from the path of Shuʿbah from al-Nuʿmān ibn Sālim, I heard Aws say: And this is an authentic chain according to the criteria of Muslim. And it was corroborated by Samāk from al-Nuʿmān with it. It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī, then he and Ibn Mājah (2/457) and Aḥmad also recorded it from the path of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Bakr
