and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I said: He also recorded it in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (10/74) through the route of Ayyūb from ʿIkrimah without Ayyūb's statement "I was informed...." Ibn Mājah also recorded it (2/336), and it is a narration for Aḥmad (2/247, 327). Ḥammād ibn Zayd also followed him from ʿIkrimah with it. It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/353) and its chain is according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī. Al-Haythamī mentioned it in "al-Majmaʿ" (5/78) and said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' and its men are trustworthy." He overlooked its presence in some of the six books, and al-Mundhirī mentioned it in "al-Targhīb" (3/118) from the narration of al-Ḥākim without his statement "Ayyūb said," which was not appropriate because it made Ayyūb's statement appear as if it were part of the ḥadīth from Abū Hurayrah, and its implications are clear. The ḥadīth has a corroborating narration from Ibn ʿAbbās similar to the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah. It was recorded by al-Bukhārī, Abū Dāwūd (2/134), al-Dārimī (2/89 - 118 - 119), Ibn Mājah (2/336), and Aḥmad (1/226, 241, 321, 339) through the route of ʿIkrimah from him. It also has a corroborating narration with the wording: "He forbade drinking from the mouth of the water skin because it spoils it."
