and in "al-Talkhīṣ": authentic according to the conditions of Muslim. al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Fatḥ" (10/79): "Its chain is strong."

"When you stand for your prayer, pray as if you are bidding farewell, and do not speak words for which you will have to apologize tomorrow, and abandon hope in what people possess." It was narrated by Ibn Mājah (2/542), Aḥmad (5/412), and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (1/462) from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUthmān ibn Khuthaym ibn ʿUthmān ibn Jubayr, the client of Abū Ayyūb, from Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī who said: A man came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: Advise me and be concise. He said: and mentioned it. This chain is weak due to the unknown status of ʿUthmān ibn Jubayr. It is said in "al-Mīzān": No one narrated from him except ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUthmān ibn Khuthaym. In "al-Taqrīb": "Accepted" and the rest of the narrators are trustworthy. In "al-Zawāʾid": Its chain is weak, and ʿUthmān ibn Jubayr, al-Dhahabī said in "al-Ṭabaqāt" is unknown. Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him among the trustworthy, and al-Bukhārī and Abū Ḥātim said he narrated from his father from his grandfather from Abū Ayyūb. The researcher al-Sindī (may Allāh have mercy on him) said after quoting this statement from "al-Zawāʾid": I say: But the fact that the ḥadīth is among the most concise and comprehensive words of wisdom indicates its proximity
