the ʿAbbādilah agreed on performing it in their prayers, and they were followed by Ṭāwūs, the esteemed successor and jurist. Imām Aḥmad said in "Masāʾil al-Marwazī" (19): "The people of Mecca do this." This is sufficient as a precedent for anyone who wishes to practice and revive this sunnah. There is no contradiction between it and the other sunnah, which is sitting on the heels, as both are sunnahs. One can sometimes do this and sometimes that, following his ﷺ example, so that none of his ﷺ guidance is neglected.

"Whoever wears silk in this world will not wear it in the Hereafter, and whoever drinks wine in this world will not drink it in the Hereafter, and whoever drinks from gold and silver vessels in this world will not drink from them in the Hereafter." Then he said: "The clothing of the people of Paradise, the drink of the people of Paradise, and the vessels of the people of Paradise." This was narrated by al-Ḥākim (4/141) and Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (15/202/2) through the route of Yaḥyá ibn Ḥamzah, who reported from Zayd ibn Wāqid that Khālid ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥusayn narrated to him, saying: Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it. He said: "It has a sound isnād." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: Its narrators are trustworthy, the men of al-Bukhārī, except for Khālid ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥusayn, who is the Umayyad from Damascus, the client of ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān. Ibn Ḥibbān said in "al-Thiqāt" (1/37): "He is counted among the people of Syria, narrates from Abū Hurayrah. Zayd ibn Wāqid and Ismāʿīl ibn ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Abī al-Muhājir narrated from him."
