it has also been narrated as marfūʿ through the route of Maslamah ibn ʿAlī, who informed us from Yaḥyá ibn al-Ḥārith, from Namīr ibn Aws, from Umm al-Dardāʾ, from Abū al-Dardāʾ, from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with it. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAsākir (17/322/2). This isnād does not establish proof, nor is it used as supporting evidence because Maslamah ibn ʿAlī, who is al-Khushnī, is abandoned, and he contradicted the group previously mentioned, who narrated it from Yaḥyá ibn al-Ḥārith from al-Qāsim from Abū Umāmah. Their narration suffices and makes the narration of Ibn Maslamah unnecessary.

- "He forbade temporary marriage, and said: Indeed, it is prohibited from this day until the Day of Resurrection, and whoever has given anything should not take it back." It was recorded by Muslim (4/134) through the route of Maʿqil from Ibn Abī ʿAblah from ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz who said: al-Rabīʿ ibn Sabrah narrated to us from his father that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) ... and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād consists of trustworthy men, with none requiring scrutiny except for this Maʿqil, who is Ibn ʿUbayd Allāh al-Jazarī. Al-Dhahabī said about him: "Truthful, but Ibn Maʿīn weakened him." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful but makes mistakes." I said: Thus, his ḥadīth would be in the rank of ḥasan due to itself, or at least due to others, and he was not alone in narrating this ḥadīth, as it was also recorded by Muslim and others through various routes from al-Rabīʿ ibn Sabrah,
