"It was narrated by Abū Yaʿlá, and its narrators are those of the authentic collections except for ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Masʿūd (!), who is trustworthy." I said: And there is another chain from Abū Hurayrah alone. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 117) and al-Khaṭīb in "Tārīkh Baghdād" from Dāwūd ibn Sulaymān al-Khurāsānī: ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Mubārak narrated to us from Saʿīd ibn Abī ʿArūbah from Qatādah from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from him. Al-Ṭabarānī said: "Dāwūd ibn Sulaymān is the sole narrator of this, and he is a shaykh with no harm in him." I said: And this is a valuable benefit, for al-Ṭabarānī's authentication of this al-Khurāsānī is not mentioned in the books of narrators like "al-Mīzān" and "al-Lisān" and others, but rather it is mentioned in them that al-Azdī said: "Very weak." I said: And the rest of the narrators in the isnād are trustworthy, the narrators of the six [books], so it is an acceptable witness according to me, and Allāh knows best.
