"a ḥadīth ḥasan." And he said in the first: "a ḥadīth ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ." Al-Ḥākim also recorded it through two other chains from Ibn ʿAmr with the same wording as Muḥammad ibn ʿUbayd, and he added at the end what Sufyān had: "By Allāh, the matter is indeed severe." And he said: "Ṣaḥīḥ according to the conditions of Muslim." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him! I say: Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr, who is Ibn ʿAlqamah, was only recorded by Muslim, and likewise by al-Bukhārī as a follow-up, as al-Dhahabī himself mentioned in "al-Mīzān."

- "Simplicity is part of faith, meaning asceticism." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (4118) from Ayyūb ibn Suwayd, from Usāmah ibn Zayd, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Umāmah al-Ḥārithī, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād has trustworthy men except for Ayyūb ibn Suwayd, about whom al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful but makes mistakes." I say: He is acceptable in follow-ups, and he was followed up, as it was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (1/40/1) through the route of Saʿīd ibn Salamah ibn Abī al-Ḥassām who narrated to me from Ṣāliḥ ibn Kaysān that ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Umāmah ibn Thalabah narrated it from his father. And he was followed by Zuhayr ibn Muḥammad from Ṣāliḥ with it, except that he said: "Ṣāliḥ ibn Abī Ṣāliḥ." Al-Ḥākim recorded it (1/9) and said: "Muslim used Ṣāliḥ ibn Abī Ṣāliḥ al-Sammān as evidence."
