that the testimony to Allāh's oneness must be well understood, such that it prevents the one who declares it from worshiping anything other than Allāh in any form of known worship. and that whoever bears this testimony and falls short in fulfilling some of the sharīʿah rulings, or commits some sins; this does not mean that he does not deserve to be punished for them, unless Allāh forgives him. *
