Zakariyyā ibn Isḥāq followed him: Thana Abū al-Zubayr: that he heard Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh say: ... and he mentioned the story similar to the ḥadīth of Abū Sufyān; and in it: that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "That is from the devil, so if one of you sees a dream he dislikes, he should not relate it to anyone, and he should seek refuge with Allāh from the devil." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/383), and its isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim. Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah followed him from Ibn al-Zubayr in a shortened form.
