among them, and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and I and my companions met him; he was occupied with some of his affairs, so he delayed the prayer until the night was halfway through. Then the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) came out and led them in prayer. When he finished his prayer, he said to those present: ... and he mentioned the ḥadīth; he added or said: "No one else has prayed this prayer except you," not knowing which of the two statements he said?! Abū Mūsá said: We returned joyful at what we heard from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). His saying: (ibharra); meaning: it reached the middle. And the middle of everything: its center. It is said: (ibharra al-layl): when its stars appear and shine, and the first is more common.

(The most hated of men to Allāh is the one who is the most quarrelsome opponent). It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (4523 and 7188 - "Fatḥ"), Muslim (8/57), al-Tirmidhī (2976), al-Nasāʾī (2/311), Ibn Ḥibbān (5667), al-Bayhaqī (10/108) and in "al-Asmāʾ wa-al-Ṣifāt" (501), and Aḥmad (6/55, 63, and 205), all through the route of Ibn Abī Mulaykah from ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā).

(When one of you goes to the Friday prayer, let him perform ghusl). It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (882 - "Fatḥ"), Muslim (3/3), and Ibn Abī Shaybah in "Muṣannaf" (2/94), and Aḥmad (1/46) from Abū Hurayrah: that ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) was delivering a khuṭbah on Friday when a man (in another narration: ʿUthmān) entered, and ʿUmar said: Why do you delay from the prayer?! A man said: I only performed ablution when I heard the call to prayer! He said: Did you not hear the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: ... and he mentioned the ḥadīth?!
