I said: Both are reliable narrators from the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim], so their uniqueness in narrating does not harm [the authenticity], especially since those who participated with them in narrating the original ḥadīth have narrated it with similar wording, with some adding to others in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs" and elsewhere. The closest among them is Ibn Wahb, who said: ʿAmr informed me from Ibn Shihāb in its entirety similarly; except that he did not say: "and one of you is fasting." It was recorded by Muslim (2/72). Bakr ibn Muḍar also followed him from ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith with it. It was recorded by Abū ʿAwānah (2/16). ʿUqayl also followed ʿAmr from Ibn Shihāb with it similarly. It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (672). In addition to what has been mentioned, this addition: "and one of you is fasting" does not contradict the other narrations, because its generality and inclusiveness encompass both the fasting and non-fasting person; as is apparent, rather the fasting person is more deserving of this concession than the non-fasting person, as is apparent. And Allāh knows best.

(When you lead a people in prayer, make it light for them). It was recorded by Muslim (2/44), Abū ʿAwānah (2/96), Ibn Mājah (988), al-Bayhaqī (3/116), al-Ṭayālisī (129/940), and Aḥmad (4/22) from the route of Shuʿbah from ʿAmr ibn Murrah who said: I heard Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib say: ʿUthmān ibn Abī al-ʿĀṣ said: The last thing the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) entrusted to me was: "When you lead..." the ḥadīth. It has other routes in "Muslim," "Abū ʿAwānah," "the Musnad," and others. It has supporting narrations from a group of Companions, among them Abū Hurayrah similarly, and his ḥadīth is more complete
