"It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ," and by Abū Yaʿlá in a shortened form, and its narrators are trustworthy, but the isnād of al-Ṭabarānī is weak." The ḥadīth was also extracted by al-Ḥākim (2/141) through the route of Maḥbūb ibn Mūsá: Abū Isḥāq al-Fazārī narrated to us from ʿAmr ibn Murrah with it! This is what he said; he did not mention in its isnād: (from Abū Saʿd)! And he said: "The isnād is authentic," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him! Then two matters occurred to me: the first is that I did not find anyone who gave the kunyah (Muḥammad ibn Asʿad) as (Abū Saʿd); rather, they gave him the kunyah (Abū Saʿīd), like Ibn Abī Ḥātim in "al-Jarḥ" (3/1/208), and al-Dūlābī in "al-Kuná" and others; and Ibn Abī Ḥātim did not mention among his shaykhs (ʿAmr ibn Murrah), nor among those who narrated from him (Abū Isḥāq al-Fazārī)! The second is that I later came across the isnād of al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ"; and it is there (6/5/5628) through the route of Abū Saʿīd al-Baqqāl, narrated by Ḍirār ibn Ṣurrad Abū Naʿīm who said: ʿAlī ibn Hāshim ibn al-Barīd narrated to us from him from ʿAmr ibn Murrah from Abū al-Bakhtarī from her, raised with the wording: "Every treacherous person will have a banner on the Day of Resurrection, the covenant of the Muslims is one, the least of them strives for it, whoever betrays a Muslim; upon him is the curse of Allāh and the angels and all people, no exchange or ransom will be accepted from him." It occurred to me that (Abū Saʿd) in the first route; might be (Abū Saʿd al-Baqqāl)
