and his statement: "in the forelocks of horses" relates to an omitted phrase, estimated as: "the blessing is present or descends in the forelocks of horses."

"Seek the Night of Decree in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan." Narrated by al-Bukhārī (2017) from the path of Abū Suhayl from his father from ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. Abū Suhayl's name is Nāfiʿ ibn Mālik ibn Abī ʿĀmir al-Aṣbaḥī. His father, Mālik, is the grandfather of Imām Mālik ibn Anas. It was also narrated by Aḥmad (6/73), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Sunan al-Kubrā" (4/308), and al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (1824) and in his "Tafsīr" (8/487) from the path of Abū Suhayl. The ḥadīth was also narrated from ʿĀʾishah, in another manner, by ʿUrwah; without mentioning the word "odd": It was narrated as follows: by al-Bukhārī (2019 - 2020), Muslim (3/173), al-Tirmidhī (792), Ibn Abī Shaybah (2/511 and 3/75 and 5/75), Aḥmad (6/56 and 204), Isḥāq ibn Rāhwayh in "Musnad" (655 and 670 and 842), Ibn Abī Dāwūd in "Musnad ʿĀʾishah" (83), Ibn Naṣr in "Qiyām al-Layl" (p. 105), al-Bayhaqī (4/307), al-Baghawī (1822), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (5479) and "Sharḥ Maʿānī al-Āthār" (2/91), and Ibn ʿAdī in "al-Kāmil" (4/1517) from the paths of Hishām ibn ʿUrwah from his father from her (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Seek the Night of Decree in the last ten days of Ramadan."
