It was narrated by al-Bukhārī (2851 and 3645), Muslim (6/32), al-Nasāʾī (6/221), Ibn Ḥibbān (4670), Ibn Abī Shaybah (12/481), Aḥmad (3/114, 127, and 171), Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr in "Sunan" (2427), al-Bayhaqī (6/329), al-Baghawī (2643), and al-Qaḍāʿī (222) through the route of Shuʿbah from Abū al-Tayyāḥ from Anas from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: ... and he mentioned it. (Benefit): Ibn Ḥibbān titled the ḥadīth in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (10/526 - "al-Iḥsān") with the statement: "Mention of affirming the blessing in tying horses for jihād in the way of Allāh." Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar said in "al-Fatḥ" (6/55) commenting on the wording of the ḥadīth: "Thus it occurred! And there must be something omitted related to the preposition, and the most appropriate estimation is what is established in another narration; for it was produced by al-Ismāʿīlī through the route of ʿĀṣim ibn ʿAlī from (1) Shuʿbah, with the wording: 'Blessing descends in the forelocks of horses' ..."
