1. Abū al-Walīd al-Ṭayālisī: In al-Bukhārī (4055) with the wording: "it expels sins." Similarly, in al-Baghawī's "Tafsīr" (2/259). The narration of Abū al-Walīd appears in al-Bayhaqī's "Dalāʾil" (3/222) and al-Fasawī's "Maʿrifah" (1/348), paired with Sulaymān ibn Ḥarb: agreeing with the narration of Ghundar! 2. Sulaymān ibn Ḥarb: In al-Bukhārī (1884) with the wording: "it expels men as fire expels impurities from iron." This narration of Sulaymān appears in ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd's "Musnad" (242 - al-Muntakhab) agreeing with the narration of Ghundar! (Note): al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar said in "al-Fatḥ" (7/356): "The wording: 'expels impurities' is the preserved one." As for the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah; it has multiple chains from him: Saʿīd ibn Yasār from him: narrated by al-Bukhārī (1871): ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yūsuf narrated to us: Mālik informed us from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd who said: I heard Abū al-Ḥabbāb Saʿīd ibn Yasār say: I heard Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) say: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "I was commanded to go to a town that consumes other towns; they say: Yathrib! But it is al-Madīnah; it expels people as the bellows expels impurities from iron."
