Muslim also narrated it (1382) from Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd from Mālik with the same wording. Aḥmad narrated it (2/237 and 247) through the route of Mālik with the same wording. It is also in "al-Muwaṭṭaʾ" (3/84 - narration of Yaḥyá ibn Yaḥyá al-Laythī) with its chain of transmission. Then Muslim narrated it through two routes from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd with the same wording. He said: "And they said: 'as the bellows expels impurities,' without mentioning: 'iron'..." There is a third route from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd with the same wording: with al-Fasawī in "al-Maʿrifah" (1/384) with the wording: "the wicked people." 2- ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Yaʿqūb al-Madanī: Muslim narrated it (1381), and al-Fasawī in "al-Maʿrifah wa-al-Tārīkh" (1/349), and Ibn Ḥibbān (3726 and 6737), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (2804 and 2805) from Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Darāwardī from al-ʿAlāʾ from his father from Abū Hurayrah from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in an extended form, and it includes: "Indeed, al-Madīnah is like the bellows, it expels impurities; the Hour will not be established until al-Madīnah expels its wicked people, as the bellows expels impurities from iron." 3- Abū Ṣāliḥ, the client of the Saʿdiyyīn: Aḥmad narrated it (2/439), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (3881) from Ibn Numayr who said: Hāshim ibn Hāshim narrated to us, saying: Abū Ṣāliḥ narrated to me from Abū Hurayrah from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam); and it includes: "By the One in whose hand is my soul! It expels its people, as the bellows expels impurities from iron."
