It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (2080), Muslim (5/48) - and the context is his -, al-Nasāʾī (2/220-221), al-Bayhaqī (5/291), and Aḥmad (3/49 and 50-51) through the route of Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr. Al-Ḥārith ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān corroborated him: with al-Ṭaḥāwī in "al-Sharḥ" (2/234). It was narrated by the two Shaykhs and others through the route of Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from Abū Saʿīd and Abū Hurayrah together in a similar manner; it is referenced in "al-Irwāʾ" (1340). The other route: from ʿUqbah ibn ʿAbd al-Ghāfir from Abū Saʿīd with it. It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (5024/ al-Muʾassasah) through the route of al-Walīd from al-Awzāʿī from Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr from him. I said: Its isnād is authentic; except for the ʿanʿanah of al-Walīd - who is Ibn Muslim - in its isnād. However, he was corroborated, as Yaḥyá ibn Ḥamzah narrated: al-Awzāʿī told us with it in brief.
