and the other: from al-Aʿraj, from Abū Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it similarly, and in it: "the scale" instead of: "the grasp." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (4684 and 7411), Muslim (3/77), al-Tirmidhī (3045), Ibn Mājah in "al-Sunan" (197), and Aḥmad (2/242 and 500). *
والأخرى: عن الأعرج عن أبي هريرة أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: ... فذكره نحوه، وفيه:"الميزان" مكان: " القبض ".أخرجه البخاري (٤٦٨٤ و٧٤١١) ، ومسلم (٣/٧٧) ، والترمذي (٣٠٤٥) ، وابن ماجه في "السنن" (١٩٧) ، وأحمد (٢/٢٤٢ و٥٠٠) . *
(Indeed, we have taken a ring and engraved on it an engraving, so no one should engrave on its engraving). It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (5874), al-Nasāʾī (9510, 9511, and 9534), and Ibn Mājah (3640) through the route of ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Ṣuhayb from Anas ibn Mālik who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) took a ring and engraved on it an engraving. He said: ... and he mentioned the ḥadīth. The wording is for al-Nasāʾī; and Anas added: It is as if I am looking at its shine in his hand. The ḥadīth has a supporting narration from Ibn ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) with a similar meaning. It was narrated by the two Shaykhs and others, and al-Tirmidhī authenticated it, and it is included in "Mukhtaṣar al-Shamāʾil" (61/81). *
