I said: This isnād is objectionable; it is possibly due to the ʿanʿanah of Ibn Isḥāq. For it was also recorded by Muslim through the route of Ibn Isḥāq, who said: Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb narrated to me from Khayr ibn Naʿīm al-Ḥaḍramī from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Hubayrah al-Sabāʾī—who was trustworthy—from Abū Tamīm al-Jayshānī from Abū Baṣrah al-Ghifārī, who said: the Messenger (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) led us in the ʿAṣr prayer... in a similar manner. And of this type is what was narrated by ʿAbd al-Razzāq in "al-Muṣannaf" (1/579/2209) from Ibn Abī Sabrah from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb from Abū Naṣrah al-Ghifārī, who said: ... and he mentioned a similar ḥadīth, adding: "and it was favored over others by twenty-six (!) degrees." I said: Thus he said: (Abū Naṣrah) with a ṣād and nūn! It is objectionable in isnād and matn, and its flaw is Ibn Abī Sabrah—who is Abū Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Sabrah—; there is a difference in his name, and he was accused of fabricating. *
(The right hand of Allāh is full, it does not diminish by spending, pouring out day and night. Have you seen what He has spent since He created the heavens and the earth? Indeed, it has not diminished what is in His right hand. He said: and His Throne is upon the water, and in His other hand is the grasp, He raises and lowers.) I said: It is from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu), and there are two routes from him: the first is from Hammām ibn Munabbih—the brother of Wahb ibn Munabbih—who said: This is what Abū Hurayrah narrated to us, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned the ḥadīth. It was recorded by Muslim (3/78), and Aḥmad (2/313)
