some instances; among them are the trustworthy ones, and among them: he made it a dream; the scholars criticized him for that, and for this reason, the ḥadīth does not exceed, in my view, the rank of ḥasan. And Allāh knows best. *

- (Indeed, Allāh has angels who roam the earth, in addition to the recorders of people [seeking the people of remembrance]; when they find a group remembering Allāh, they call out: Come to your desire. They come and surround them up to the lowest heaven. Allāh asks: What did you leave My servants doing? They say: We left them praising You, glorifying You, and remembering You. He asks: Have they seen Me? They say: No. He asks: How would it be if they saw Me? They say: If they saw You, they would be more intense in praise, glorification, and remembrance. He asks: What are they asking for? They say: They are asking for Paradise. He asks: Have they seen it? They say: No. He asks: How would it be if they saw it? They say: If they saw it, they would be more eager for it and more earnest in seeking it. He asks: From what are they seeking refuge? They say: From the Fire. He asks: Have they seen it? They say: No. He asks: How would it be if they saw it? They say: If they saw it, they would flee from it more intensely and fear it more. He says: I bear witness to you that I have forgiven them. They say: Among them is so-and-so, a sinner who did not intend to join them, but came for a need. He says: They are the people, and their companion will not be miserable because of them.)
