"Indeed, Allāh sent me as a deliverer, and He did not send me as one who imposes hardship." Its citation has been previously mentioned under number (1516). *

- "ʿĀshūrāʾ is one of the days of Allāh, so whoever wishes may fast it, and whoever wishes may leave it." It was recorded by Muslim (3/147), Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (3/55), Aḥmad (2/143), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Sunan" (4/289) from the route of Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar: that the people of ignorance used to fast on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ, and that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and the Muslims fasted it before Ramaḍān was made obligatory. When Ramaḍān was made obligatory, the Messenger of Allāh said: ... and he mentioned it. *

- "Indeed, ʿAbd Allāh ibn Qays—or al-Ashʿarī—was given a flute from the flutes of the family of Dāwūd." It was recorded by Muslim (2/192-193), al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (805), Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (12/122/12308), Aḥmad (5/351), and Ibn Saʿd in "al-Ṭabaqāt" (4/107), all from the route of Mālik ibn Mughawwal from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Buraydah from his father who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. It was also narrated by al-Nasāʾī in "al-Sunan al-Kubrā" (5/23/8058) from another route from Mālik with it, and its wording is: The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) passed by Abū Mūsá one night while he was reciting, and he said: ... and he mentioned it. And he added: When morning came, they mentioned that to him, and he said: If you had informed me, I would have embellished it beautifully. Its chain of narration is authentic. *
