"yes, and they will drink, and they will not..." etc. It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/354), and its isnād is good for supporting evidence. Māʿiz was not authenticated by anyone except Ibn Ḥibbān.*

(Indeed, the people of Paradise are facilitated to perform the deeds of the people of Paradise, and the people of the Fire are facilitated to perform the deeds of the people of the Fire). It was recorded by Muslim (1/29-30) - though he did not provide the wording - and likewise by Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in "al-Sunnah" (1/57/124), and Abū Dāwūd (4696) - with his wording - and from his route: Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr in "al-Tamhīd" (6/6-7), and Aḥmad (1/27), all of them from the route of ʿUthmān ibn Ghayāth who said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Buraydah narrated to me from Yaḥyá ibn Yaʿmar and Ḥumayd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān who said: We met ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar, and we mentioned to him the issue of divine decree and what they say about it... so he mentioned something similar, adding: A man from Muzaynah - or Juhaynah - asked him, saying: O Messenger of Allāh! In what do we act? In something that has passed or is decreed, or in something that is being initiated now? He said: "In something that has passed and is decreed." So the man or some of the people said: Then why act?! He said: ... and he mentioned it. I said: Abū Dāwūd, by saying "so he mentioned something similar," refers to what he and Muslim and Ibn Ḥibbān and others narrated through another route from Ibn Buraydah, the complete story, but it does not contain the ḥadīth of the chapter; it is extracted in "al-Irwāʾ" (1/33-34), and in "al-Ṣaḥīḥah" (2903). Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said afterwards: "This meaning was narrated from ʿUmar from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) through various routes, and among those who narrated this meaning..
(إنّ أهل الجنّة ييسرون لعمل أهل الجنة، وإنّ أهل النار ييسرون لعمل أهل النار). أخرجه مسلم (١/٢٩- ٣٠) - ولم يسق لفظه-، وكذا ابن أبي عاصم في " السنة " (١/٥٧/ ١٢٤) ، وأبو داود (٤٦٩٦) - والسياق له-، ومن طريقه: ابن عبد البر في "التمهيد" (٦/٦- ٧) ، وأحمد (١/٢٧) كلهم من طريق عثمان بن غياث قال: حدثني عبد الله بن بريدة عن يحيى بن يعمر وحميد بن عبد الرحمن قالا: لقينا عبد الله بن عمر، فذكرنا له القدر وما يقولون فيه ... فذكر نحوه، زاد: قال: وسأله رجل من مزينة- أو جهينة-، فقال: يا رسول الله! فيما نعمل؟ أفي شيء قد خلا أو مضى، أوفي شيء يستأنف الآن؟ قال:""في شيء قد خلا ومضى". فقال الرجل أو بعض القوم: ففيم العمل؟! قال: ... فذ كره. قلت: ويشير أبو داود بقوله: "فذكر نحوه " إلى ما رواه هو، ومسلم، وابن حبان، وغيرهما من طريق أخرى عن ابن بريدة، القصة بتمامها، لكن ليس فيها حديث الترجمة؛ وهي مخرجة في " الإرواء " (١/٣٣- ٣٤) ، وفي " الصحيحة " (٢٩٠٣) . وقال ابن عبد البر عقبه:"وروي هذا المعنى عن عمر عن النبي ﷺ من طرق، وممن روى هذا المعنى
