the gate of Paradise, and I may see its inhabitants!' So Allāh brings him to it, and he sees the people of Paradise and what is within it. He says: 'O Lord! Admit me into Paradise.' He said: So Allāh admits him into Paradise. He said: When he enters Paradise, he says: 'Is this for me?!' Allāh says to him: 'Wish!' So he wishes, and Allāh reminds him: 'Ask for such and such'; until his wishes are exhausted, Allāh says: 'It is for you, and ten times as much.' He said: Then he enters Paradise, and two of the ḥūr al-ʿīn come to him, and they say to him: 'All praise is due to Allāh who has given you life for us, and given us life for you!' He says: 'No one has been given what I have been given!' He said: And the least of the people of the Fire in punishment? He will be wearing two sandals of fire; his brain will boil from the heat of his sandals. It was recorded by Muslim (1/120 and 1/135), Abū ʿAwānah (1/163), and Aḥmad (3/27) — and the context is from Aḥmad — all from al-Nuʿmān ibn Abī al-ʿAyāsh from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. It has another abbreviated route with Ibn Ḥibbān, number (7335). It has a corroborating narration from the ḥadīth of Ibn Masʿūd mentioned earlier, number (3129). *
نجافِ الجنّة، وأَنظرَ إلى أهلها! فيقدّمه اللهُ إليها، فيرَى أهلَ الجنّةِ ومافيها، فيقولُ: أيْ ربِّ! أدْخِلني الجنّةَ. قال: فيدخلُه اللهُ الجنّةَ، قال:فإذا دخلَ الجنّةَ قال: هذا لي؟! قال: فيقولُ الله ﷿ له: تمنَّ!فيتمنَّى، ويذكِّره اللهُ: سلْ من كذا وكذا؛ حتّى إذا انقطعت بهالأمانيُّ؛ قال اللهُ ﷿: هو لكَ، وعشَرةُ أمثالهِ.قال: ثمّ يدخلُ الجنّةَ، يدخلُ عليه زوجتَاه من الحورِ العين،فيقولانِ له: الحمْدُ لله الذي أَحياك لنا، وأحيانا لكَ! فيقولُ: ماأُعطِيَ أحدٌ مثْلَ ما أُعطيتُ!قال: وأَدنى أهلِ النّار عذَاباً؟ يُنْعَلُ من نارٍ بنعلينِ؛ يغْلي دماغُهمن حرارةِ نعْلَيه) .أخرجه مسلم (١/ ٠ ٢ ١ و٥ ٣ ١) ، وأبو عوانة (١/١٦٣) ، وأحمد (٣/٢٧) ،- والسياق لأحمد - كلهم عن النعمان بن أبي العياش عن أبي سعيد الخدري أنرسول الله ﷺ قال: ... فذكره.وله طريق أخرى مختصرة عند ابن حبان رقم (٧٣٣٥) .وله شاهد من حديث ابن مسعود تقدم برقم (٣١٢٩) . *
- (Indeed, when the Ashʿarīs run short of provisions in battle, or the food of their families in Madīnah becomes scarce, they gather what they have in a single cloth, then they divide it among themselves equally in one vessel. They are from me, and I am from them.) It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (2486), Muslim (7/171), al-Bayhaqī (10/132), and al-Baghawī
- (إنّ الأشْعريّين إذا أرملُوا في الغزْو، أو قلَّ طعامُ عِيالهمبالمدينةِ؛ جمعُوا ما كانَ عندَهم في ثوْبٍ واحدٍ، ثم اقتسمُوه بينهم فيإناءٍ واحدٍ بالسَّوِيَّةِ، فهم منّي وأنا منهم) .أخرجه البخاري (٢٤٨٦) ، ومسلم (٧/ ١٧١) ، والبيهقي (١٠/ ١٣٢) ، والبغوي
