"(When he supplicated, he supplicated three times, and when he asked, he asked three times)." Narrated by Muslim (5/179-180) from Zakariyyā from Abū Isḥāq from ʿAmr ibn Maymūn al-Awdī from Ibn Masʿūd who said: While the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was praying by the House, Abū Jahl and some of his companions were sitting, and a camel had been slaughtered the previous day. Abū Jahl said: "Which of you will get the entrails of the camel of the family of so-and-so and place it on Muḥammad's shoulders when he prostrates?" The most wretched of the people got up, took it, and when the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) prostrated, he placed it between his shoulders. They laughed, leaning on each other, while I stood watching. If I had had the power, I would have removed it from the back of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) remained in prostration without raising his head until someone went and informed Fāṭimah. She came, while she was a young girl, and removed it from him, then turned towards them and cursed them. When the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) finished his prayer, he raised his voice and then supplicated against them, and when he supplicated... then he said: "O Allāh, deal with Quraysh" (three times). When they heard his voice, their laughter ceased, and they feared his supplication. Then he said: "O Allāh, deal with Abū Jahl ibn Hishām, ʿUtbah ibn Rabīʿah, Shaybah ibn Rabīʿah, al-Walīd ibn ʿUqbah, Umayyah ibn Khalaf, and ʿUqbah ibn Abī Muʿayṭ," and he mentioned the seventh but I did not remember it. By the One who sent Muḥammad (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with the truth; I saw those he named slain on the day of Badr, then they were dragged to the well: the well of Badr. Abū Isḥāq said: "(al-Walīd ibn ʿUqbah) is a mistake in this ḥadīth." From this chain, it was also narrated by al-Bayhaqī in "Dalāʾil al-Nubuwwah" (2/278). Abū Nuʿaym narrated from it in "al-Ḥilyah" (4/153 and 347) the ḥadīth of the chapter, and said:
