narrated by Shaybah (13/150/962 15), Aḥmad (3/284-285), Abū Nuʿaym in "Ṣifat al-Jannah" (253/417), and "al-Ḥilyah" (6/253), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Baʿth" (209/415), al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (15/226-227/4389) and also in "al-Tafsīr" (1/76), all of them through the route of Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Thābit al-Bunānī from Anas that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. Al-Baghawī said: "This is an authentic ḥadīth." The context is from Muslim, and the two additions are from Ibn Ḥibbān, Aḥmad, and others. It has another route; al-Dārimī said in "Sunan" (2/338-339): Yazīd ibn Hārūn informed us: Ḥumayd narrated from Anas with a similar narration. I say: This isnād is authentic, and it is a thulāthī [three-narrator chain]; if Ḥumayd—who is al-Ṭawīl—heard it from Anas; for most of his ḥadīth from Anas he heard from Thābit, as more than one has said. Some have reported it as mawqūf [stopped], al-Ḥusayn al-Marwazī said in "Zawāʾid al-Zuhd" (524-525/7491): Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdī informed us: Ḥumayd narrated from Anas who said: ... and he mentioned it but did not raise it [to the Prophet]. Ibn Abī al-Dunyā narrated it in "Ṣifat al-Jannah" (81/252) through the route of Ibn al-Mubārak: Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl narrated it mawqūf. He was followed by him (251) through the route of Ibn al-Mubārak as well, and this is in "al-Zuhd" (70/241-Naʿīm), and also by Ibn Abī Shaybah (13/102/15822), all of them through the route of Sulaymān al-Taymī from Anas with it mawqūf. *
