the Children of Israel. He sent for her, and she came to him. He said: 'Show me the grave of Yūsuf.' She said: 'By Allāh, I will not do so until you give me my due.' He asked: 'And what is your due?' She replied: 'To be with you in Paradise.' He was reluctant to grant her that, so Allāh revealed to him to grant her request. She led them to a lake, a place where water collected. She said: 'Drain this water,' and they drained it. She said: 'Dig and extract the bones of Yūsuf.' When they lifted them to the ground, the path became as bright as daylight." It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá in "his Musnad" (344/1) and al-Ḥākim (2/404-405, 571-572) through three chains from Yūnus ibn Abī Isḥāq from Abū Burdah from Abū Mūsá who said: "The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) came to a Bedouin and honored him. The Bedouin said to him: 'Visit us,' so he came to him. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said (in another narration: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) stayed with a Bedouin and honored him, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to him: 'Visit us,' so the Bedouin came to him and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said:) 'Ask your need.' He said: 'A she-camel with its saddle and goats that my family can milk.' The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) ... " and he mentioned it. The context is from Abū Yaʿlá, and the additions are from the other narration of al-Ḥākim, who said: "Authentic according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs, and Aḥmad and Ibn Maʿīn have ruled that Yūnus heard from Abū Burdah the ḥadīth (There is no marriage except with a guardian)" and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. And I say: It is only according to the conditions of Muslim alone, for al-Bukhārī did not include Yūnus in "his Ṣaḥīḥ," but only in "Juzʾ al-Qirāʾah." (Benefit) I was previously puzzled by his statement in this ḥadīth "the bones of Yūsuf" because it apparently contradicts the authentic ḥadīth:
