and he elevated it, and he is trustworthy; Muslim relied upon him, and his name is Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān. As for the younger al-Suddī, whose name is Muḥammad ibn Marwān, he is accused of lying.

"He was praying, and when he prostrated, al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn would climb onto his back. When people wanted to stop them, he would signal to them to leave them be. When he finished the prayer, he placed them in his lap and said: Whoever loves me should love these two." It was narrated by Abū Yaʿlá in "his Musnad" (60/2) from ʿAlī ibn Ṣāliḥ from ʿĀṣim from Zirr, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd who said: and he mentioned it as elevated. I say: This isnād is good; its men are trustworthy, and there is some discussion about ʿĀṣim, who is Ibn Abī al-Nujūd, that does not harm [the narration]. And ʿAlī ibn Ṣāliḥ is Ibn Ṣāliḥ ibn Ḥayy al-Hamdānī al-Kūfī.

- "Have you failed to be like the old woman of the Children of Israel?" His companions said: "O Messenger of Allāh, who is the old woman of the Children of Israel?" He said: "When Mūsá led the Children of Israel out of Egypt, they lost their way. He said: 'What is this?' Their scholars said: 'We will tell you. When Yūsuf was on his deathbed, he took an oath from us by Allāh that we would not leave Egypt until we took his bones with us.' He said: 'Who knows the location of his grave?' They said: 'We do not know where Yūsuf's grave is except for an old woman from..
