in it (Ibn Lahīʿah); hoping for success and guidance from Allāh. The first part of it has a corroborating narration from Abū Hurayrah with similar wording, recorded by Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in "al-Diyāt" (48) through various chains, one of which is cited in "al-Irwāʾ" (5/254/1428) from the narration of the two Shaykhs and others. Al-Mundhirī said about the ḥadīth in "al-Targhīb" (3/272/2): "Aḥmad narrated it, and its narrators are those of 'al-Ṣaḥīḥ' except for Ibn Lahīʿah, and al-Tirmidhī narrated it and said: 'It is a ḥasan gharīb ḥadīth, known only from the narration of Ibn Lahīʿah'..." *Of the qualities of those who love each other for the sake of Allāh and their status with Allāh.

"Indeed, there are servants of Allāh who are neither prophets nor martyrs, whom the prophets and martyrs will envy on the Day of Judgment for their closeness to Allāh and their position with Him. Then a Bedouin knelt on his knees and said: O Messenger of Allāh! Describe them to us, and make them clear to us?! He said: They are people from various backgrounds; from different tribes, who befriended each other for the sake of Allāh and loved each other for His sake. Allāh will place for them on the Day of Judgment pulpits of light, people will fear but they will not fear, they are the allies of Allāh 'those upon whom there is no fear, nor shall they grieve.'"
