al-Mundhirī said (1/211/13) - and he was followed by al-Haythamī (10/122), and the three imitators (1/471) copied them, saying -: "Aḥmad narrated it with a good isnād"! I say: Ibn Lahīʿah is known for poor memory, so it is considered good due to the corroborating narration before it, and what follows. Ḥuyayy ibn ʿAbd Allāh was corroborated; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ziyād ibn Anʿam narrated from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr, mentioning it similarly to the ḥadīth of Ibn Lahīʿah. It was recorded by ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd in "al-Muntaqā min al-Musnad" (1/301/338), and also by al-Ṭabarānī (13/26/52), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Daʿawāt al-Kabīr" (2/112/353); and with them is the complete teaching for Abū Bakr. Its isnād is weak; Ibn Anʿam - who is al-Afrīqī - is weak. There is another route: from Abū Rāshid al-Ḥabranī who said: I came to ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ, and I said to him: Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)?; so he placed a scroll before me, and said: This is what the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) wrote for me; I looked into it; and it contained: that Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq said: O Messenger of Allāh! Teach me what to say when I rise in the morning and when I enter the evening? The Messenger (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "O Abū Bakr! Say ... " and he mentioned the supplication up to his saying: "and that I commit an evil act against myself, or drag it to a Muslim."
