by Allāh! You are more loving to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) than those who saw him—or most of those who saw him. Al-Bazzār said: "We do not know of any isnād for ʿAmmār except this one!" I said: And it is a weak isnād due to the weakness of Ibn Lahīʿah and the unknown status of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dāwūd al-Ḥarrānī; for I did not find a biography for him, and its text—when stopped—is objectionable. And Allāh knows best. Al-Haythamī said: "It was narrated by al-Bazzār and al-Ṭabarānī, and it includes ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dāwūd al-Ḥarrānī—brother of ʿAbd al-Ghaffār—and I did not know him, and the rest of al-Bazzār's isnād is good!"

- (The bathhouse is forbidden for the women of my ummah). Al-Ḥākim narrated it (4/289) saying: Ismāʿīl ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Faḍl ibn Muḥammad al-Shaʿrānī informed us: My grandfather narrated to us: Saʿīd ibn Abī Maryam narrated to us: Nāfiʿ ibn Yazīd narrated to us: Yaḥyá ibn Abī Usayd told me from ʿUbayd ibn Abī Suwayyah that he heard Subayʿah al-Aslamiyyah say: Some women from the people of Shām entered upon ʿĀʾishah, and ʿĀʾishah said: Who are you? They said: From the people of Ḥimṣ. She said: Companions of the bathhouses? They said: Yes. ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say ... and she mentioned the ḥadīth. One of the women said: I have daughters; should I comb their hair with this drink? She said: With what drink? She said: Wine! ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) said: Would you be pleased to comb your hair with pig's blood? She said: No, she said: It is the same. Al-Ḥākim said: "The isnād is authentic," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and al-Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿIrāqī confirmed it in "Takhrīj"
