"O assembly of the Emigrants! Indeed, you have now become numerous..." the ḥadīth is similar in a summarized form. It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/78), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (19/79) through the route of Sufyān ibn Ḥusayn from al-Zuhrī from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Kaʿb ibn Mālik from his father. Al-Ḥākim said: "The isnād is authentic!" and al-Dhahabī agreed with him! I say: There is weakness in Sufyān ibn Ḥusayn's narration from al-Zuhrī. Muʿammar contradicted him, saying: from al-Zuhrī who said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Kaʿb informed me from his father—who was one of the three who were pardoned—about a man from the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) stood as a preacher... the ḥadīth. It was recorded by ʿAbd al-Razzāq (11/63/19917), and from him by al-Ṭabarānī (19/79/159), but he did not mention the Companion.
