"al-Maʿrifah" (2/296-297) with a single isnād, they said—and the context is for Yaʿqūb—and through his route: it was recorded by Ibn ʿAsākir in "al-Tārīkh" (1/528): ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yūsuf narrated to us, he said: Yaḥyā ibn Ḥamzah narrated to us, he said: Abū ʿAlqamah Naṣr ibn ʿAlqamah al-Ḥaḍramī—from the people of Ḥimṣ—narrated to me that ʿUmayr ibn al-Aswad and Kathīr ibn Murrah al-Ḥaḍramī said: Abū Hurayrah and Ibn al-Ṣamṭ used to say: The Muslims will remain on earth until the Hour is established, because the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. I said: And this isnād is authentic, all its men are trustworthy, including Naṣr ibn ʿAlqamah, as I clarified in the ḥadīth before it. Other ḥadīths have come regarding the people of al-Shām and that they are the victorious group, but their isnāds are weak; I had pointed to them in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" under ḥadīth (6104), then I came across this, so I hastened to include it here due to the authenticity of its isnād. And know that (al-Shām) is the northern region of (the Arabian Peninsula), and it includes Syria, including Antioch, Jordan, and Palestine up to Ascalon; as mentioned in "Muʿjam al-Buldān". *
