when the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) looked at the Kaʿbah, he said: "Welcome to you..." etc. I said: And this isnād is good, its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs; except for Ḥafṣ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān—who is the judge of Nīshāpūr; al-Dhahabī said in "al-Kāshif" and al-ʿAsqalānī in "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful." And the ḥadīth has another chain; it is narrated by Mujālid from al-Shaʿbī from Ibn ʿAbbās: that he looked at the Kaʿbah and said: How great is your sanctity... the ḥadīth. Thus said Mujālid—who is Ibn Saʿīd—and he is not strong, but it is considered as marfūʿ, especially since someone more reliable than him raised it from the first chain. And this was extracted by Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (9/362/7804), and its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs; except for Mujālid, and his condition is known, and I add here that Muslim extracted it as a follow-up; as in "al-Mīzān" and others. And it has a mawqūf witness better than it from the narration of al-Tirmidhī (2032) from Ibn ʿUmar in his ḥadīth with a good isnād, deemed good by al-Tirmidhī, and authenticated by Ibn Ḥibbān, and it is extracted in "Ghāyat al-Marām" (240/240), and "al-Taʿlīq al-Raghīb" (3/177/10).
