from this series and many others, their ignorance and transgression against the sunnah in terms of authentication and weakening. And Allāh is the one whose help is sought. Now, let us see what is in their "refinement" that confirms the previous description of them without expanding on their critique due to limited space?! I say: Among the things that catch the attention of the discerning reader familiar with their "encouragement," which spans four large volumes, is that their refinement, which "contains the authentic and good ḥadīths" as they stated in the introduction (p. 6), is only in one volume! The total number of its ḥadīths is only (1284), out of the total number of ḥadīths in the original "encouragement" (5580), which is less than a quarter! Does this represent the actual number of authentic ḥadīths in the "encouragement" or even come close to it? The matter is not so at all; this is clarified by the fact that the mentioned total is close to the number of ḥadīths I compiled for the first volume of "Ṣaḥīḥ al-Targhīb wa-al-Tarhīb," and it only exceeds it by about (200) ḥadīths, which is one volume out of three as I estimate, because the rest are in print, meaning a third out of three! This ratio is confirmed by another example; the total number of ḥadīths they authenticated or deemed good in the "encouragement" reached (71) ḥadīths from the Book of (Sincerity) - which is the first book in it -; and their number in their "refinement" is (21)! That is, by a third ratio as well, they eliminated about three-quarters of the ḥadīths they authenticated in this single book, so how many would be the total number of ḥadīths they eliminated from the other books?! There is no doubt that it would be close to two thousand! Even more if not for the repeated ḥadīths in the original, which they excluded. This is supported by the fact that the number of the last ḥadīth in my book "Ṣaḥīḥ al-Targhīb" and in the experiment at hand is (3691), which may increase slightly or decrease after correcting the final experiment
