it did not concern them, nor did they find it appealing, because they did not understand it; so it sufficed them to conceal their ignorance and lack of understanding by merely transmitting al-Dhahabī's statement: "It is very strange"! Thirdly, they could have avoided that falsehood if they had knowledge of this noble discipline, by improving the isnād of the ḥadīth as required by the science of ḥadīth, or by following those who authenticated the ḥadīth as previously mentioned. However, unfortunately, they are not even skilled in imitation! So how can they have knowledge?! Fourthly, today I came across a new book of theirs; they compete with publishers and authors like them in releasing new embellished works to display at exhibitions held from time to time in different countries. This book was heavily advertised at the end of the volumes of their edition of "al-Targhīb wa-al-Tarhīb," which is filled with delusions, ignorance, and lies—this ḥadīth is a clear example of that. They named it "Tadhīb al-Targhīb wa-al-Tarhīb from the authentic ḥadīths"! This title alone is enough for the fair researcher to deduce their ignorance and lack of understanding, because as it is said in some countries: (the book is revealed by its title)! This is because they mean the opposite of what they titled! They wrote beneath it: "A verified edition distinguished by authentic ḥadīths..." Thus, their intention contradicts their words, as they mean: refining it from weak ḥadīths, not from the authentic ones!! When I reviewed their so-called "refinement" today, I was appalled by their disregard for the established ḥadīths that they had authenticated in the commentary on "al-Targhīb," and I was convinced, as I had suspected, that they only published the book in four large volumes out of greed and a pursuit of illicit wealth, by posing as researchers, correctors, and verifiers, while they are, as it is said: (neither in the caravan nor the vanguard), as I have previously explained
