the first: it is narrated by ʿUbādah ibn al-Walīd ibn ʿUbādah from his father from his grandfather who said: ... and he mentioned it, without the addition between the brackets. It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (7199 and 7200) - in abridged form-, Muslim (6/16), Abū ʿAwānah (4/454) - and the context is theirs-, Ibn Ḥibbān (7/39-40/4530), al-Nasāʾī (2/180-181), Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in "al-Sunnah" (2/494-495/102-1032), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Sunan" (8/145 and 10/158), Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (15/57/19104), al-Ḥumaydī in "Musnad" (192/389), and Aḥmad (5/314, 316, and 319). Some of them did not mention (al-Walīd ibn ʿUbādah) in the isnād - among them Ibn Ḥibbān -, and he said this: "ʿUbādah ibn al-Walīd heard ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit." and the other path: it is narrated by Junādah ibn Abī Umayyah from ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit with a similar version, in abridged form, and it includes the addition. It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (7055 and 7056), Muslim (6/16-17), Abū ʿAwānah (4/456), Ibn Ḥibbān (7/45/4543), Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim (2/492/1026 and 493/1028 and 495/1033 and 1034), Ibn Abī Shaybah (no. 19105), Aḥmad (5/321), and al-Bayhaqī (8/145) from various paths from him. It was also recorded by al-Bazzār in "al-Baḥr al-Zakhkhār" (7/143-144/2698-2700) from both paths. this; and indeed the motivation for extracting the ḥadīth and tracing it in these numerous sources - which are rarely found collected in a book - is that I saw al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Mundhirī had presented the ḥadīth
