3- from Qurrah al-Muzani regarding the story of the death of his young son and the Prophet's (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) consolation to him, in which he (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "O so-and-so! Which would you have preferred: to enjoy his company for your lifetime, or that you do not come tomorrow to a gate of the gates of Paradise except that you find him having preceded you to open it for you?" He said: O Prophet of Allāh! Rather, for him to precede me to the gate of Paradise and open it for me is more beloved to me! He said: "Then that is for you." Then a man from the Anṣār said: O Messenger of Allāh! May Allāh make me your ransom! Is this specifically for him or for all of us? He said: "Rather, for all of you." It was authenticated by al-Ḥākim and al-Dhahabī, and it is included in "Aḥkām al-Janāʾiz" (p. 205), and it was also authenticated by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Fatḥ" (3/121). *
