however, it is also a weak isnād, as all three narrators except Rāshid are weak. Al-Haythamī criticized it only for (Jabbārah)! (3/151). It has a strong corroborating report; narrated by Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm, the brother of Abū Maʿmar, who said: Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us from Ibrāhīm ibn Maysarah from Ṭāwūs from Ibn ʿAbbās who said: ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb sent for me to join him for the pre-dawn meal, and he said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) called it the blessed breakfast. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (2/308/505), and through his route, by al-Khaṭīb in "al-Tārīkh" (1/387). Al-Ṭabarānī said: "We do not know anyone who narrated it from Ibn ʿUyaynah except Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm, the brother of Abū Maʿmar." I said: Al-Khaṭīb narrated with his isnād that Ibn Maʿīn was asked about him, and he said: "Someone like Abū Maʿmar is not questioned about; he and his brother are among the people of ḥadīth." And from Mūsá ibn Hārūn, who said about him: "Truthful, there is no harm in him." I said: The rest of the narrators are those of the authentic collections, as al-Haythamī said (3/151), except for al-Ṭabarānī's shaykh (Aḥmad ibn al-Qāsim ibn Masāwir al-Jawharī), who is trustworthy. Another corroborating report; from the ḥadīth of ʿĀʾishah, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Bring us the blessed breakfast," meaning the pre-dawn meal, and it might have been only two dates.
