(2/171-172/1130) through the chain of ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Mubārak from Baqiyyah ibn al-Walīd who said: Buhayr ibn Saʿd informed me from Khālid ibn Maʿdān from al-Miqdām ibn Maʿdīkarib from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is authentic, all its men are trustworthy, and Baqiyyah explicitly stated the transmission; thus, we are safe from his tadlīs. Then al-Nasāʾī narrated it through the chain of Thawr from Khālid ibn Maʿdān who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it as mursal. Its isnād is also authentic, and it does not undermine the musnad; because the one who narrated it as musnad is Buhayr ibn Saʿd, a reliable and firm narrator; as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb", and the addition of a trustworthy narrator here is accepted by consensus. It has two supporting witnesses from the ḥadīth of Abū al-Dardāʾ and al-ʿIrbāḍ ibn Sāriyah with a similar meaning. Ibn Ḥibbān recorded both in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (881 and 882 - Mawārid) with two chains that strengthen each other, mentioned by al-Mundhirī in "al-Targhīb" (2/93/5 and 6) indicating their strengthening, remaining silent about the first ḥadīth, and clarifying the defect of the other ḥadīth, and he missed the ḥadīth of the chapter, which was among the reasons for presenting it and clarifying its authenticity; to support the other ḥadīths. The ḥadīth of Abū al-Dardāʾ has another chain with al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (17/131/322) through the chain of Jubārah ibn al-Mughallis: Bishr ibn ʿUmārah narrated to us from al-Aḥwaṣ ibn Ḥakīm from Rāshid ibn Saʿd from ʿUtbah ibn ʿAbd and Abū al-Dardāʾ in a marfūʿ form with the wording: "Take suḥūr at the end of the night." And he used to say: "It is the blessed breakfast."
