then in the isnād, (Abū al-Khayr)'s name is Murthad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Yaznī al-Miṣrī. Al-Ṭabarānī also narrated the ḥadīth in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (5/18/4493) through the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ: Ibn Lahīʿah narrated it to me; and he added after the ḥadīth: "meaning: the tax collector." Al-Mundhirī criticized it in "al-Targhīb" (1/279/3) due to Ibn Lahīʿah, and he was followed by al-Haythamī (3/88), and the three commentators on "al-Targhīb" (1/617) imitated them, not distinguishing between the narration of Aḥmad and that of al-Ṭabarānī; nevertheless, al-Mundhirī prefaced it by saying: "and from Abū al-Khayr..." indicating that it is ḥasan or close to ḥasan in his view. As for the commentators on it; they followed the standard regarding the ḥadīth of Ibn Lahīʿah, and said: "weak!"
